3 lights. One half gelled reddish, the other half left bare, which is casting the reddish background but blue highlights on their faces (camera WB set to tungsten). An SB600  gelled tungsten on the side, hitting all their faces. One more flash left bare that’s only casting a rim highlight on the saxophonist.

They’ll be on CBC Radio 2 on February 11th.

Shooting the generals of the DORK Army (short for Department of Recreational Killing). They run a great all-ages monthly gaming event in Toronto, and behind all the camo are very nice guys. All shots link to a set of about 20 photographs.

Mostly shot with three lights. Two hard on the sides, one in a shoot-thru umbrella for minor fill. All with a D90, mostly with a 3.5-4.5 18-70mm nikon lens, a couple qwith a 1.8 50mm.
