Kyle and Alison are fierce bowlers

Went to Montreal last week and we decided to hit the Rose Bowl for some good ol’ten-pin action. I had some gear with me and decided to take some pics. The idea was to make them look kinda hard core. Used two lights: An Sb600 1/1 tungsten gelled on camera left for their faces, and an Sb28 left ungelled casting the hard blue side/rear light cutting across their faces. The reason the light turned blue while left ungelled was because the camera white balance (wb) was set to tungsten. I find you get a much bluer blue if you do it that way instead of actually putting a blue gel on the light, which in my experience makes things subtler. It definitely has its place, though. Think I shot this at a low ISO to keep the ambient and background down.
